How does Digimed Pharmacy work?

No more deciphering other people’s notes! When doctors prescribe medications, e-prescriptions will be submitted electronically to the desired pharmacy chosen by the patient.

Create an account

Signing up is quick and easy. Access our web application here to create your Digimed Partner Pharmacy account in minutes.

Ensure top level security for your account with 2-step verification.

Fill in your pharmacy details by inputting your pharmacy name, logo, registration number, address, locality, and postcode. Once this is done, your information will be verified by our Medical Committee.

The administrator can add multiple locations and users by going to the ‘Pharmacy Settings’ section and adding the pharmacist’s name, email address, and contact number. The pharmacist will then receive an email with a link to create an account. It’s so easy and flexible that once pharmacists are signed up, they will have access to the app, their own dashboard, and they will also be able to scan e-prescriptions.

Patient –Doctor Process

The process of getting an e-prescription is very straightforward. First, the patient will have a consultation with a healthcare professional on the platform. This may be followed up with a digitised e-prescription if medication is required. The system will then generate a prescription code (a QR code) with all the necessary details. This system can be used for both one-time and recurring prescriptions.

Patient – Pharmacy process

Once being prescribed medication by the doctor, the patient selects the e-prescription which they need to purchase and then selects a specific pharmacy from the drop-down menu through Digimed network.

The pharmacy receives a notification, a unique code and a prescription request informing them that this prescription is being requested.

The pharmacy has the option to reject the request and input the reason for rejecting the prescription e.g. since the medication is not available.

If the pharmacy approves, the patient receives a notification to collect the prescription.
In this case the pharmacist may opt to prepare the prescriptions beforehand to not leave the patient waiting on pick-up.

Improve customer convenience for your clients

Improve customer service for your clients

Once a patient comes in to buy their medication, the pharmacist will scan the QR code or else enter the prescription number.

Once the prescription has been scanned the patient will start to receive notifications of when to take the medication, known as their Health Companion.

If it is a one-time prescription, the QR code can be used once and nullified after usage.

If it is an ongoing prescription, the app will inform the patient on then number of subscriptions remaining.

This will result in a structured system by enhancing compliance and reducing prescription abuse.

Pharmacy Management system

From the dashboard, the pharmacist will be able to view a number of things, including the number of pending requests, the total number of prescriptions dispensed, and those awaiting collection. The pharmacy management system will also allow you to export the history of what the pharmacy has dispensed. The dashboard also has a search function that will enable you to find information such as a particular prescription or a specific patient quickly and easily.

In the ‘Prescription Requests’ section, you will find a list which includes the name of who the medicine was prescribed by, the name of the person the medication was prescribed for, the prescription name, and the prescription date.

You have the same kind of list for ‘Awaiting Collections’ as you have for ‘Prescription Requests’. Like the ‘Prescription Requests’ list, this list includes the name of who the medicine was prescribed by, the date the prescription was created, the name of the person the medication was prescribed for, and the prescription name.

The Dispense History is a detailed list that includes the patient’s details, the prescription name, the prescription date, the dispense date, a section showing whether the medication has been dispensed or declined, and option to download this information or print it.

The pharmacist can also search for a particular prescription.
